Recent problems in the finance industry can be traced to fundamental problems in the way investments were being structured and secured:

  1. Registered security over an asset is only useful if the asset retains its value or if the borrower is able to meet the payments required;
  2. Recent examples have demonstrated the compounding effect of defaulting payments causing insecurity in the markets and consequently leading to declining asset values;
  3. “Borrowing short and lending long” is fundamentally risky as it requires new investment to keep the fund going over the life of the loans made.

Generally there has been a serious lack of connection between the lender (including banks, fund managers, finance companies and their trustees) and the market or asset group into which the loans have been placed.

Our objective is to address these fundamental problems by enabling direct investment and security arrangements in respect of the asset into which loans are placed, and to then manage the investment with a team of experienced professionals.

Iuxta Capital investments will be placed in activities being undertaken, managed or overseen by the Maxim Group of companies.  We will be focusing on investments that make sense because they are based on project outcomes – not leverage or structure within the financial instrument itself.
